A block theme for content sites with ready-made designs. It works alongside the plugins you already use instead of replacing them.

== Description ==

Wiozen Theme is a free block theme for news sites, magazines, blogs and guides. Pick a design under Appearance > Wiozen Theme and the whole site takes on that look: colors, fonts, front page layout, single post and archive templates. Everything can then be changed in the Site Editor without code, and your changes stay when the theme updates.

Version 1.0 comes with four designs: News, Technology, Finance and Food. Six more (Crypto, Sports, Health, Travel, Automotive and Gaming) are shown in the admin as "Coming soon" and are not part of this release.

The theme does not add its own SEO settings, forms, caching, security, backups, translations or custom fields. Those belong to plugins, so switching themes later does not cost you your settings. It is built and tested to work with:

* Contact Form 7
* Rank Math and Yoast SEO (breadcrumbs are shown in the theme's own spot)
* LiteSpeed Cache and WP Rocket
* Wordfence
* UpdraftPlus
* WPML and Polylang (language switcher block)
* Advanced Custom Fields
* Elementor ("Full width" and "Blank canvas" templates)

= Designs =

All four designs have colour-coded categories (each category keeps its own colour on badges, section headings and its archive page), a reader-controlled dark mode, a reading time and author line on posts, breadcrumbs that fall back to a simple trail when no SEO plugin is active, a choice of header and footer layouts, and a footer tag list.

* News: a dense newspaper-style front page with a numbered headline slider, a breaking news ticker, a top bar with date and social links, category stories and category sections.
* Technology: a tech magazine front page with a large featured story beside smaller cards, card grids and a showcase band for category sections, a timeline news feed, and a top bar with date and social links.
* Finance: a business-paper front page with a ticker, a top bar with date and social links, a three-column front block with a lead story, category columns for topics such as markets and companies, and a "not investment advice" notice in the footer.
* Food: a recipe magazine on cream paper with a large single story for a recipe of the week, round category stories, grids for quick or latest recipes, and a single recipe page with a Print button and a print layout that shows only the recipe.

= Front page modules =

Under Appearance > Wiozen Theme > Customize you build the front page from modules. You can add a module, add the same module more than once, duplicate it, hide it, remove it and reorder the list by dragging or with the arrow keys. A list holds up to 20 modules and is saved separately for each design. Each module has a type and a look, and takes its posts from the latest posts, a category, a tag or the most commented posts.

Module types: headline (slider, large story with list, large story with side cards, mosaic, single story), card grid (2, 3 or 4 columns), list (with thumbnails, numbered, timeline), big story with list, showcase band, front page block, category columns, breaking news strip, category stories, feed with sidebar, all posts with paging, ad slot and divider. A module that needs a feature the active design does not have (for example the slider or the breaking news strip) is marked "Not in this design". You can preview the list before saving it, and reset it to the design's default.

= Small script, ads and Content Bot =

The front-end script that runs the slider, ticker, dark mode button and back to top button is 4,939 bytes (about 4.8 KB; about 1.7 KB gzipped). It is loaded only when the page uses one of them; with the back to top button on, which is the default, that is every page. An optional cookie notice has its own script of 1,584 bytes and is loaded only when you turn the notice on; it shows the notice only to visitors who have not chosen yet.

Ready-made ad slots (leaderboard, mobile banner, rectangle, skyscraper, in-article and side rails for wide screens) are available as patterns. Paste your ad code into the slot; filled slots reserve their space so the page does not jump, empty slots take no space.

Posts written by the Wiozen Content Bot plugin (summary box, key points, table of contents, sources) get their own styling.

The footer has a small "Made with Wiozen" link to wiozen.com. You can switch it off in the Settings tab.

= Wiozen account and updates =

The theme is free to download from https://themes.wiozen.com/download. The Wiozen Theme screen (switching designs, settings, layouts, front page modules, ad slots, demo content) and theme updates open for a connected Wiozen account:

1. Go to Appearance > Wiozen Theme and choose "Connect Wiozen". You sign in to your Wiozen account, or create one, and approve the site.
2. The account must have topped up at least $5 in total, counted over its lifetime. Spending the balance later does not lock anything. The required amount is set in the signed licence that themes.wiozen.com sends; $5 is what the theme expects.

The public site never locks. Visitors, the Site Editor, your posts and your plugins keep working whether or not the site is connected. Only the Wiozen Theme screen and theme updates lock. They also lock if the theme files were modified (reinstall the theme), if the account was disconnected or the licence revoked, or if the site address changed (connect again). If themes.wiozen.com cannot be reached, nothing locks: the theme keeps the last verified licence, tries again after 1 hour, 6 hours and then daily, and shows a notice if it could not verify for 14 days.

== Installation ==

1. In your admin area go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme and upload the zip file.
2. Activate Wiozen Theme.
3. Go to Appearance > Wiozen Theme, connect your Wiozen account, choose a design and, if you like, add the demo content.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Will I lose my changes when I switch designs? =

No. Templates you changed in the Site Editor are kept. The Wiozen Theme screen lists them and lets you reset them if you want the new design's version. The front page module list is saved per design.

= Does my site stop working without a Wiozen account? =

No. The public site, the Site Editor and your content do not depend on the account. Without a connected account that meets the $5 top-up rule, only the Wiozen Theme screen and theme updates are locked.

= Which plugins are recommended? =

None are required. The theme suggests Wiozen Content Bot, Rank Math SEO and Contact Form 7, and you can dismiss the notice.

== External services ==

Visitors of your site never load anything from Wiozen or any other third party because of this theme. Fonts are included in the theme, and the front page has no remote scripts, styles, images or trackers. The only link to another site on the public pages is the optional "Made with Wiozen" footer link, which loads nothing.

All requests below are made from your server, in the admin area or by WordPress background tasks (WP-Cron). They go to Wiozen services: themes.wiozen.com (theme licence and updates), api.wiozen.com (Content Bot information and balance) and account.wiozen.com (sign-in and wallet). Terms: https://account.wiozen.com/terms - Privacy: https://account.wiozen.com/privacy

"Site data" below means: a random site ID the theme creates once, your site address, the theme version, the active design, the WordPress version, the PHP version, the site language, and whether it is a multisite. "Integrity data" means the SHA-256 digest and the number of the theme's own PHP, JS, CSS, HTML and JSON files. The theme never sends your posts, users, admin email or the contents of files.

themes.wiozen.com

* Connecting the site. When you choose "Connect Wiozen", your browser goes to https://themes.wiozen.com/connect with your site address, the address of your admin return page, a random state value, a PKCE challenge (a hash) and your admin language (Turkish or English). Themes.wiozen.com sends you to account.wiozen.com to sign in and asks you to approve the site. When you return, the theme sends the one-time code, the PKCE verifier, a random nonce, a random domain proof, site data and integrity data including the list of theme file paths with their SHA-256 hashes (POST /v1/license/activate). If the site was connected before, the old licence key is sent too. Why: to link the site to your Wiozen account and issue a licence for it. themes.wiozen.com reads your lifetime top-up total from your Wiozen account to apply the $5 rule.
* Domain proof. The theme has one public REST route, /wp-json/wiozen-theme/v1/connect-proof (also reachable as ?rest_route=/wiozen-theme/v1/connect-proof). For 15 minutes after a connect attempt it returns the SHA-256 hash of the random proof, and nothing else; otherwise it answers 404 and returns nothing. Themes.wiozen.com may read it to check that the site belongs to the person connecting it when another account already holds a licence for the address.
* Licence check (POST /v1/license/check). Sends the licence key as a bearer token, site data, a random nonce, the reason (cron, upgrade, panel or manual) and integrity data. The list of file hashes is added only when the digest changed since the last successful check or the server asks for it. When: once a day by WP-Cron, right after the theme is updated, when you open the Wiozen Theme screen and the last check is older than 24 hours or the theme version changed, when you press "Check again", and as a retry after an outage. Why: to confirm the licence, the top-up rule and that the theme files are unmodified. The answer is signed and the theme verifies the signature before using it.
* Theme update (GET /v1/update?version=...&site=...). Sends the installed theme version and your site address in the address, and the licence key as a bearer token when the site is connected (a site that is not connected sends no key). When: when WordPress checks for theme updates (about twice a day, or when you open Dashboard > Updates); the answer is kept for 6 hours (30 minutes after a failure). Why: to show new versions and, for a connected and unlocked site, to offer the update package. Unlicensed or locked sites also check, see that a new version exists and cannot install it until they are connected. The theme only accepts a package address on themes.wiozen.com.
* Install notice (POST /v1/hello). Sends site data and an event: activated (when the theme is activated), daily (once a day, only while the site is not connected) or deactivated (when you switch to another theme). No licence key is sent. Why: so Wiozen can see which versions and designs are in use for updates and compatibility.
* Disconnect (POST /v1/license/deactivate). Sends the licence key as a bearer token and site data. When: when you press "Disconnect" and when you switch to another theme. Why: to close the licence. The stored licence is deleted from your site afterwards.

api.wiozen.com

* Content Bot information. In the admin area the theme reads https://api.wiozen.com/plugin-files/wiozen-icerik-botu.json to find the current Wiozen Content Bot package it can recommend and install. It sends no data of its own; WordPress adds your site address and WordPress version in the user agent, as it does for every request. The answer is kept for 6 hours (30 minutes after a failure). Why: to recommend the Content Bot plugin. The Content Bot is optional.
* Balance. Only if the Wiozen Content Bot is active and has an API key, the Overview tab shows your Wiozen API balance. The request goes to https://api.wiozen.com/v1/balance (GET) with the Content Bot's API key as bearer token, through the Content Bot's own function when it has one. The answer is kept for 30 minutes. Why: to show the balance. The theme does not use this key for anything else, and it is never used for the licence.

account.wiozen.com

* Your server makes no request to account.wiozen.com for this theme. Your browser goes there when you sign in during the connect step, and from the links "Add funds", "Open a support request", Terms and Privacy.

The Wiozen Theme screen also tells site owners what is sent, in its Help tab.
